Phil Hellmuth Pockets his 100th WSOP Cash

On Thursday, Phil Hellmuth, the Poker Brat, wrote poker history again, by logging his 100th cash finish in a WSOP bracelet event. The deed was done at the 2013 WSOP-E, in event #5, the €2.2k
NL Holdem event, in which the Brat obviously failed to go all the way, but managed to make the money nonetheless.
Erik Seidel, currently second on the all-time
WSOP cash list, also managed to make the money in the same event, so he at least succeeded in keeping up with Hellmuth. Seidel’s WSOP cash tally is currently at 80.
The truly interesting thing about Hellmuth’s WSOP record isn’t even the fact that his earnings total more than €12 million, but rather that a massive 13% of his cash finishes have thus far been converted into bracelets.
Seidel doesn’t sport a bad record either: of his 80 cash finishes, he managed to take the bracelet home 8 times, which is indeed a 10% rate.
Men Nguyen is pretty close to Seidel on the all-time money list, with 79 cash finishes and 7 gold bracelets.
Humberto Brenes is within striking distance as well, with 72 cashes and 2 bracelets. Others to keep an eye on in this respect would be
PokerStars pro Daniel Negreanu (67 cashes, 5 bracelets), Barry Greenstein (64 cashes and 3 bracelets) and John Juanda (63 cashes and 5 bracelets).
As far as the bracelets-to-cash finishes rate is concerned though, Hellmuth is far from the top. Johnny Moss, who earned 9 bracelets and 27 cashes, leads that list with 33.3%. Doyle Brunson’s ratio is nothing to scoff at either: his 10 bracelets and 36 cashes make for an awesome 27.8%.
Billy Baxter, Johnny Chan and Phil Ivey follow, and Hellmuth is only in 8th place.
As said above, Hellmuth eventually busted from event #5, his pocket 6s no match to Ariel Celestino’s pocket 7s in his last hand.
