Phil Ivey’ Training Site

Although the
online poker community has pretty much lost its faith in “poker professors” with the Howard Lederer fiasco, there’s always room for others to step up to the plate in this vert, especially if that other person’s name is Phil Ivey. Long regarded as the best poker player in the world, Phil Ivey has finally decided to share at least some of his secrets through a new site he has recently launched, called IveyPoker.com.
Unlike some of the other similar operations, which dispense advice for money, Ivey’s site will feature a team of high-profile professionals, who will create videos, and the site will make them available to all comers for free. This will certainly shake up the poker school market a bit. According to Ivey, the goal of his site is to teach people to play poker the right way. Many people out there don’t know how to play poker, so their initial enthusiasm for the game quickly wanes as soon as they realize they’re in way over their heads and they’re never going to win anything. Patrik Antonius is one of the players who will contribute to Ivey’s site. Jennifer Harman is also a team member, as is fresh October Nine winner Greg Merson.
Merson’s picture is already featured at the site. According to Ivey, Merson is the perfect face for his operation, since he doesn’t have much of an ego and because Ivey simply loves the way he handles himself at the table.
Ivey said that while Merson was definitely glad to have his name associated with the newly launched brand, he was the one who had approached the new champion about joining the site.
According to Ivey, his site will offer regular players the opportunity to play with some world-class competitors.
