888 Poker invites all its members to become a Whale when they qualify to play holdem in The Whale $250,000 monthly tournament.
If you play at on line poker sites or at land based casinos you’re going to have fantasized at least once about joining the Whales. For most of us however this is little more than a pipe dream as our bankrolls barely stretch to being considered a dolphin, let alone a whale! At 888 Poker however all of the on line poker sites members have a real chance of playing with the big boys in The Whale.
The Whale is a $250,000 tournament held on a monthly basis at the site. In order to play holdem in the tournament you would usually have to cough up a $530 buy-in. However, 888 Poker is giving all of us the opportunity to take part with step tournaments leading into The Whale. There are 4 steps on the way to The Whale, and you can jump in at which ever step you wish. If you want the least costly route, you can play holdem in a Step 1 tournament. These run all day every day and have a buy in of just $0.09 + $0.01 R&A. These of course lead to the daily step 2 tournaments with a $2.70 + $0.30 R&A buy-in, which in turn lead to the Step 3 $20 + $2 R&A buy-in tournament. The final step is Step 4 which can be bought into directly for $100 + $9 R&A and runs 3 times daily, each with a guaranteed seat for The Whale.
The Whale will take place at 19:00 GMT every fourth Sunday of the month, and the winner will carry away a $60,000 prize.
