Poker action returns to Vegas

In the wake of the 2010 WSOP, Las Vegas became kind of quiet, at least as far as poker was concerned. With all the live tournament action focused in London and in other places world over, it has been a while since Sin City made any headlines in any of the poker blogs and news sites. The wait is apparently over though. Cash games have been around all along, even though some of the best players have been playing overseas lately.
The Wynn is probably the casino with the best cash game offer at the moment. During October, they run a $50k promotion, giving away 5 $500 batches of cash each and every day. The way to secure a chance to win one of these prizes is to simply sit down at the poker table. That act earns the player a raffle-ticket. For each hour spent at the table, he earns yet another ticket. Buying into the daily poker tournament that the Wynn runs is worth 3 additional raffle tickets.

Those looking for tournament action will have to head over to the Bellagio, where the Festa Al Lago Series have been in progress since October 8th. The series consist of no fewer than 13 events covering PLO, and NL Holdem. There will be a special $10k WPT championship event too, the Main Event of the series. The other events will span buy-ins from $500 to $5,000. Obviously, these buy-ins are not really accessible to all comers. For those looking for cheaper action, the Caesar’s Palace Classic is the answer.
The Caesar’s Palace Classic features 30 events with buy-ins ranging from $235 to $1,080 for the Main Event. The CPC kicks off on October 21st and runs till November 7th.
The Venetian Deep Stack Extravaganza IV starts on October 28th and wraps up on November 21st featuring 27 events.
