PokerStars’ 72 Billionth Hand – Kozlicek_x Wins

Given the ongoing 10th anniversary celebrations at PokerStars, the site’s 72 billionth hand promotion awarded an outstandingly large prize to those dealt into the milestone hand. A massive $100k would be distributed among the winners, with the lion’s share of $25k going to the winner of the hand.
Six players busy hacking away at a $0.02/$0.05 Holdem table got the good news: they were going to be the recipients of the prize money. Each of them would be guaranteed a $10k minimum prize. All of them shoved all-in, and it was Kozlicek_x from the Czech Republic who flopped a set of 7s to win the pot, pocketing the $24.3k top prize as well. The other players pocketed $12.1k each.

The rush for the 72 billionth hand money was great: there were more than 400k players signed into PokerStars in hopes of grabbing a share of the dough.
Usually, PokerStars only celebrate their every 5 billionth hand with such promotions, but this time around the situation was a special one: with the 10th anniversary celebrations in full swing, far more players got rewarded simply for taking part in a hand, than the above said 6 luck-bags. Leading up to the 72 billionth hand, more than 1,000 players walked away with cash prizes. The reward-bonanza started at the 71 billion 770 millionth hand, and it rewarded players in every one millionth hand all the way to the 72 billionth.
The celebrations are still far from over though: next Sunday, a $10 Million Sunday Million is scheduled to take place, which is likely to generate a bigger prize-pool than any other such event in online poker history. For the winner, a minimum of $2 million is guaranteed. The buy-in costs exactly $215 as it usually does, but the possibility of the fabulous prizes will surely attract more players than ever. A whole bunch of Team PokerStars pros have already registered for the event.
