PokerStars APPT Macau – Day 3 Report

The 3rd day of the PokerStars APPT’s Macau Main Event saw 96 players return to the tables. Their goal: to finish in the money. There were plenty of notables still in the running, and while some of them did make it past the money bubble, some were forced to go home empty-handed. Team PokerStars member Nacho Barbero was one of the pre-bubble victims. He took several nasty hits, which left his stack in shambles, before he got the last of his tournament blood into the middle on K,6o. He got a call from an opponent who had pocket 8s and the board failed to bail him out.
Nathaniel Seet started the day in possession of the largest stack. He had a mind-boggling lead over the rest of the field. Dan Park was second, but his stack was a dwarf in comparison to Seet’s. None of these two players survived the day. They both found a way to blow their stacks, but at least they both made the money.
Seet finished in 38th place, while Park made it all the way to 28th.

Julian Powell made the money too, but he too failed to survive the day. He ran out of steam in 69th place. Andrew Scott busted in 61st place, just before Johnny Chan (60th) and Terrence Chan (56th). Grant Levy was the one who made it the farthest from the bunch: he finished 25th.
India’s Sangeet Mohan clinched the chip lead at the end of the day. He amassed more than 2.4 million chips. For those who may not know him: Mohan is the winner of the APT’s Goa event, which he took down a little while ago, so he can definitely play Holdem.
Of the Team PokerStars contingent, Randy Lew managed to make the cut. Daniel Nordstrom will return as well, albeit on a less than ideal stack. David Steicke didn’t have a good day, but he too made the final 15. Josh Barrett and Jeff Rossiter will return as well.
