PokerStars Close to being allowed in New Jersey?

According to New Jersey State Senator Raymond Lesniak, one of the main advocates of legal online gambling and poker in the Garden State, one of the biggest missing entities of the legalization process, PokerStars, the world’s largest
online poker operation thus far kept out of the US market on account of its breaking of various provisions of the 2006 UIGEA, will finally be allowed in New Jersey. Lesniak said that he expected the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement to deliver a favorable verdict in the case within a few weeks.
Lesniak also said that PokerStars were indeed coming to his state, and not only would the company take the online gaming industry by storm, it would also bring with it massive investments, its brand and a number of attractions to Atlantic City.
Sign up to PokerStars now and become a member of the biggest and best online poker operation out there.
Lesniak’s plans are aimed at breathing life into the Atlantic City live gaming scene, which – as peculiar at as that may seem to be – has struggled for years now. The Senator obviously hopes that PokerStars will be a major part of this rebirth, as the presence of the online poker operator is the first stage of his master plan.
Atlantic City-based casinos have begun offering regulated online poker last November, but after an initially promising start, the liquidity issues that came with the turf sent the local industry into a tailspin: since March, online poker revenues have fallen by a massive 35%.
PokerStars couldn’t be part of the initial frenzy on account of the ongoing federal indictment of its founder, Isai Scheinberg. Since then though, PokerStars and Full Tilt Poker’s ownership was transferred to Amaya Gaming, a company already licensed in New Jersey and that apparently made the difference regulators were looking for.
PokerStars is THE destination for the biggest and most generous weekend majors of the online poker industry.
