PokerStars EPT Prague – Day 3 Report

The 3rd day of the Pokerstars EPT’s Prague Main Event saw a surviving field of 136 players return to the tables. Garri Tesorov had the chip lead at the beginning of the day. With the money bubble set to 104th place, the immediate goal of all surviving participants was to make it past the bubble. Tesorov survived day 3, but he lost the chip lead. When the dust settled, Patrick Renkers had the largest stack. His lead was quite substantial indeed: he had twice as many chips as second place man Martin Finger.

Team PokerStars’ Johnny Lodden had been sailing quietly under the radar for the first two days of the event. On day 3, he met his demise though. He was joined on the rail by Dominik Nitsche, Ramez Haddad and David Peters.
As the money bubble drew near, the pace of the action slowed down quite a bit. Once hand to hand play was reached, it took the field an entire level to finally eject the unlucky bubble-boy. Mads Amot was the one who bit the dust in 105th place, leaving all the other survivors in the money.
With the money bubble out of the way, the action got rolling again. Several of the remaining ‘name’ players had to settle for min-cash. Mike Watson, Marty Smith and Nicholas Chouity all took home less than they would’ve liked to, but at least they didn’t have to go home empty-handed.
Dag Palovic and Liv Boeree, both of Team PokerStars failed to advance to day 4 too. Boeree was eliminated by Tevosov. Palevic met his end when he picked up pocket 9s and lost a coin-flip with them for his tournament life.
Only two representatives of Team PokerStars Pro survived to day 4: Jude Ainsworth finished with 929k chips, while Juan Manuel Pastor only managed to amass 742k.
Mike McDonald was among the survivors as well. He had it going pretty tough in the beginning, but he then managed to take down a massive pot from Max Silver about halfway through the day.
