8 players returned to the final table of the PokerStars
EPT Prague Main Event. Each end every one of these players wanted to be the last one standing, feeling the reassuring touch of the first place prize in his pocket while hoisting the EPT trophy above his head.
Eventually, the player to accomplish all that was Martin Finger, the start of the day chip leader who managed his advantage well at the final table. The day was expected to be a short one, but it ended up being quite a whooper nonetheless. Mads Wissing was the first player to bite the dust on day 5. He was in a pretty desperate position chips-wise when the action kicked off and he shoved all-in from late position on a lowly 7,4o. Guillem Usero made the call with pocket 8s and Wissing’s tournament life was over. He picked up €66k+ for his efforts though.
Andreas Wiese was crippled in a bout with Usero, and he never managed to repair the damage. His last hand saw him push all-in holding pocket 5s against Finger’s A,3o. An ace fell on the flop and Wiese was eliminated too.
Ari Engel went out in 6th place. He had been the short-stack for a while when he shoved all-in against Finger and lost the race.
Denys Drobyne bit the dust in 5th place. He picked up a respectable €160k prize though, so it wasn’t all bad for him.
Usero was the next one to push all in with A,8o, only to be picked off by Finger, who had pocket Ks. No help came for Usero and he headed to the payout booth to pick up his €205k share of the booty.
Nicolas Levy went out in 3rd place to set up the heads-up stage.
Finger and Boyaciyan struck a deal at the top and they battled it out for a €100k extra. Finger was the one who came through eventually, his A,K getting the best of his opponent’s pocket 10s in the final hand of the event.
