PokerStars Italian Poker Tour Update

The PokerStars Italian Poker Tour has been the biggest poker tour to be hosted solely in Italy, and has provided not just top notch poker play but also the stuff that dreams are made of.
The first stop of the Italian Poker Tour was held at the San Remo Casino from June 5th to 7th. The event attracted 250 players, half of the capped number, but none-the-less created a prize-pool of more than half a million Euros. The play was intense, but after 3 days it was Stefano Puccilli, a banker who emerged victorious with both the first ever Italian Poker Tour champion title, and €120,000.
By the time that the second stop got underway in Venice from July 30th to August 2nd, the news had spread and this time 439 players turned out for a part of the action. With the near doubling of players the prize-pool jumped to €851,660 and a first place prize of €200,000. There were several Team PokerStars Pros to be spotted amongst the tables including Chad Brown and Vanessa Rousso. None of these were to become the conquering champion however; that position was seized by Matt Perrins of Manchester, England. This became Perrins' second only cash finish, and at the tender age of 21 seemed to be a pretty good start for him.
And so we reach the third and final leg of the PokerStars Italian Poker Tour. We will be returning to the Casino San Remo for the main event on Thursday August 27th. The event has a €2,000 buy-in unless you've qualified through one of the PokerStars Satellites. If you have not been successful, there is still hope as there are live freeze out satellites running from August 24th. The final table for the main event will be held on August 31st and with that, this wonderful first season of the Italian Poker Tour will reach its conclusion.
