PokerStars’ January Daily Challenges

PokerStars know how to make a month -the outlook of which is rather dull otherwise - look good. Indeed, January doesn’t seem like prime poker/online poker season, but PokerStars have long turned it into just that by virtue of the PCA alone. Not everyone can afford to go to the
PCA though, and not everyone can win a package at
PokerStars either. For these people, the everyday joes, PokerStars have launched their January Daily Challenges. In order to take part in the promotion which spans the entire first month of the year, players are required to opt in manually, using a special code. They don’t have to make a real money deposit to qualify and to be allowed to opt into the promotion, but unless they have some real money in their account, they shouldn’t really bother at all, because completing the challenges that make up the promotion requires real money indeed.
FPP buy-in tournaments, freerolls, play money events and all-in shootout tournaments do not count towards the Daily Challenges.
While all real-money related, the challenges are indeed pretty interesting. One type of challenge requires players to make a minimum deposit of $10. Another one asks for players to play in at least one real money SNG. Yet another challenge is about earning at least one FPP playing at the Zoom Poker tables.
Another extremely interesting challenge is about playing in the Sunday Storm, which costs $11 to enter and which offers a guaranteed prize-pool of $300k.
Mobile players will be glad to learn that one of the challenges of the promotion asks for players to compete in at least one real money SNG on a mobile phone or a tablet.
The total value of the January Daily Challenges promotion is $500k, but in addition to that prize-pool, winners will receive no fewer than 10,000 special gifts.
