PokerStars SuperStar Showdown round 2

The second round of the PokerStars SuperStar Showdown saw Swedish mystery player Isildur1 finally score one for the home team. The Swede took on none other than Tony G, in the wake of his defeat in the first round of the series at the hands of Isaac Haxton, a loss which cost him a little over $41k. He recovered that money now and he saved some face too, something which he badly needed to make his recent bad runs forgotten.
The exact sum he took off Tony G was $44,280, which meant that at the end of two rounds of SuperStar Showdown hostilities, he registered a $2,579 profit.

Both players involved in the second round play a highly aggressive style of poker, so there was little surprise in the fact that the first all-in only took about 12 minutes to develop. Tony G was the one who pushed the envelope before the flop, holding Ad,Ah,Jd,4c. He 6-bet all-in, and got called by Isildur1, who had Ac,Qc,10d,5d. Tony G won that pot, taking $10k from Isildur1, but it didn’t take the Swede long to exact some revenge. Only a minute later, another all-in developed which ended up in the Swede’s possession.
That pot proved to be the catalyst of an awesome run that Isildur1 managed to pull off over the following 10 minutes or so. At the end of the run, he had managed to relieve Guoga of 3 more all-in pots.
Another 10 minutes later, Tony G was back in the saddle and trash-talking. Before he could really hit his comfort-zone though, Isildur1 leapt back into the game, taking down the biggest pot of the session.
The interesting thing about the hand was that both players had K-high straights when the money went all-in. A Q which fell on the river gave the Swede an A-high for the win though. Soon, Tony G went on a tilt and the match-up was basically over. The notoriously outspoken Australian did get in a round of bitching about the rules in the end though.
