PokerStars to Introduce Heads-Up Zoom Poker Cash Game Tables

Indeed, the need to shake up the heads-up cash game scene has been quite acute for a while now, and PokerStars’ players had apparently pleaded for the introduction of heads-up Zoom poker cash game tables, to weed out fish-hunting at the site and to level the playing field. Those pleas have apparently been heard, as
PokerStars’ Steve Day announced the other day that the world’s largest online poker operator would begin featuring heads-up Zoom Poker tables for cash games next month.
Those who have played Zoom Poker before (or any other brand of fast folding poker for that matter) will be familiar with the game format: as soon as one hits the fold button on a starting hand he doesn’t like, he’s transferred to a different table and dealt into a new hand right away.
Fast folding poker may have been called “poker on crack” in the beginning, but with the heads-up factor added, this new version of the game will likely break speed records again. In addition to that, PokerStars hope that the new format will also put a stop to sharks preying on weaker opponents through table selection.
The site has already announced a feature aimed at weeding out this practice, but apparently it will only be implemented next year. The new feature is about introducing a required number of hands to be played after the second player takes a seat. Those who do not play the required number of hands are removed from the action.
Another major announcement made this week by PokerStars was one concerning the Drug Advice Service Helpline, an Isle of Man-based organization, which will be saved by PokerStars and Microgaming. The two online gaming giants have teamed up to offer financial advice and assistance to DASH, aiming to make it financially sustainable in the future.
Sign up to PokerStars now and get ready for the arrival of the heads-up Zoom Poker tables.
