PokerStars’ WCOOP to Kick off on September 8

Barely does one major online tournament Series subside at
PokerStars, another one is already on the horizon, barely giving players time to regroup and to get their bankroll ready again. This time, what we’re looking at is the upcoming edition of the WCOOP (the World Championship of Online Poker) which is set to get going on September 8. The very first event of the Series is a $109 NL Holdem affair, but on the first day of the Series, there will be no fewer than 3 events kicking off. Besides the above said opener, there’s a $215 NL Holdem 6-max event as well, and a $215
NL Holdem one. All-in-all, there will indeed be plenty of action on Day 1.
Altogether, there will be no fewer than 66 different events taking place, each and every one of them offering a guaranteed prize-pool. The guarantees total a staggering $40 million, which seasoned WCOOP veterans know all too well will be left in the dust.
Besides the actual prizes picked up in the various tournaments, players will also be able to take home handsome rewards from the Player of the Series Leader board. Compared to years past, the 2013 WCOOP will introduce a series of changes. One of these changes is that there will be a full range of second chance events, which will give players more chances to win.
In addition to that, the Main Event will return to a $5.2k buy-in, and the first event of the WCOOP will be the above said kick-off one. The 10-max shootout will become a $1,050 NL Holdem two-day event too. Last but not least, the high rollers will return to a $10.3k buy-in.
The Series will wrap up on September 29, so it will almost run the entire length of the month.
