PPA: No Progress in Repayment of US Players

Full Tilt Poker has repaid all those who are currently allowed to access the freshly re-launched
online poker site’s real money tables and even those who can’t play, but reside outside the US. US-based players will apparently have to wait though, since the remission of their monies will be handled by the DoJ’s Asset Forfeiture and Money Laundering Section and no actual access will be granted to their Full Tilt balances.
Representatives of the PPA have recently had a meeting with DoJ representatives, and although it was a cordial and otherwise quite productive outing, it also revealed the fact that no significant progress has been made in the repayment of US players whose monies are still stuck at Full Tilt Poker.
As part of the takeover deal which effectively bailed Full Tilt Poker out, PokerStars agreed to repay all non-US players within a 90 day period. There was no such urgency agreed upon though in regards to US players. The PPA have asked DoJ representatives about the remission process, and they learned that nothing has really been decided about it yet. The issues that the PPA brought up were linked to the actual timeline of the process, and the hiring by the DoJ of a third party Claims Administrator to handle the actual repayment.
PPA director John Pappas admitted that his organization failed to deliver any good news to the poker community this time around. According to Pappas, the PPA told the DoJ that they would like to help expedite the process, however there was no word on how the DoJ reacted to that. The bottom line that Pappas drew was a not too encouraging one for US players: repayment of their monies was a “long way away”.
