PPC Aruba World Championship Main Event – Day 2 Report

The second day of the PPC Aruba World Championship Main Event saw the final table set in rather dramatic fashion: RJ Sullivan was the one who basically set the final table by bouncing Arun C. Arun had the chips in the middle with pocket Ks, a good move indeed against Sullivan’s 9s, 5s. Lady Luck figured she’d play a little bit of a trick though and she gave Sullivan trips on the river to send Arun packing and to set the official final table of the poker tournament. The player who finished Day 2 with the largest stack was Robin K, who had 559k chips bagged. The official short-stack will be Andy Seth, who finished with only 70k chips.
Despite the fact that he’s neither the leader, nor even second or third in chips, Joe Serock is likely to hog all the limelight come the final day. He is the reigning champion of the event, and he invested a lot into this one, putting no fewer than 4 buy-ins into the middle. He finished Day 2 with 222.5k chips, enough for 6th place, which is where he should finish in order to make a minimum profit. His stack is still large enough to allow him to make a solid title run though, so he will definitely generate interest.

Among the 31 players who returned to the tables at the beginning of Day 2 were some big names like Ronnie Bardah and Stephen Bokor. They were both eliminated though. Bardah fell to Andy Seth, suffering something of a bad beat when his A,Qo fell short against Seth’s K,Qo. Igor Merda may have started the day with the largest stack, but he failed to make the official final table too. Joe Ebanks on the other hand will return, together with David Tuthill.
