Martins Adeniya may not be a universally known player yet, but among the pros added by
Full Tilt Poker over the last couple of weeks, he is arguably the highest-profile one. He was named a Full Tilt red pro just as the Galway Poker Festival kicked off, with the obvious goal to carry the site’s colors at the Series. He is not by any means a new face on the live poker circuit though.
His latest accomplishments include a 7th place finish in the
EPT’s London Main Event, coupled with a third place finish in a FTOPS Main Event.
He made several deep runs in various poker events world over and those who follow the poker news closely have known about him for quite a while now. His hiring as a Full Tilt Poker pro will offer him the chance to finally nail that career-defining win, which will forever enter him into the annals of mainstream poker history.
Originally a stock trader in London, Adeniya began taking poker seriously when he saw players like Gus Hansen and Phil Ivey dishing it out and taking it on TV. Having graduated from one of the top universities in the UK, his projected career path had been an obviously bright one, until his passion for poker got the better of him.
He says his goal has always been to make as much money as possible and poker seemed like a good career choice with that goal in mind. His decision to go pro wasn’t a haphazardly made one either: in the beginning he had a job and he would regularly put his salary to shame through the profits he raked in from the poker tables.
Eventually, he was pushed over the edge by his $180k FTOPS Main Event score, which proved he could indeed pull it off.
