Pros Chime in on WSOP Schedule Changes

The WSOP has made its 2015 schedule public for the first time a couple of weeks ago and since then, the community has been buzzing about it. Indeed, the changes introduced are quite radical, but most of them have been greeted with enthusiasm by those who will eventually cough up the buy-ins at the tables.
The 2015 edition of the World Series of Poker will feature 68 bracelet events, and the Main Event will no longer feature the infamous $10 million guaranteed share of the prize-pool for the winner. Instead, 1,000 players will be paid, as the prize-pool will be spread more generously. Tournaments with buy-ins under the $10k mark will have their structures overhauled and their starting stacks will be increased as well.
Professional players have thus far taken favorably to the changes: they seem to especially like the increased starting stacks, which are expected to give a bigger say to skill at the tables.

2012 WSOP Main Event Champion Greg Merson said the only complaint he had schedule-wise was that the $111,111 One Drop event was crammed into 2 days, when it should've been a 3-day event.
According to Greg Raymer, the deep-stacks are absolutely positive. Those who do not enjoy the deep-stacked action can always choose to register late to avoid it. Dutch Boyd on the other hand sees the schedule as more geared towards casual players, which is obviously always a great plus when it comes to drawing in the masses. Boyd considers the deep stacks a great development as well, something that he says will benefits pros and beginners alike. The pros will be able to dodge early bad beats, while casual players will get a better and bigger bang for their buck.
