SCOOP Update – Danzer, Levy among Winners

PokerStars’ 2013 SCOOP has thus far been extremely popular with the “name” crowd. Several high profile players have actually managed to win events, among them Sami Kelopuro, Ana Marquez and Benny Spindler. This week, three more names were added to that list: George Danzer, who won event #12H, the $2.1k
NL Holdem 2-7 Triple Draw one, Victor Lemos, whose win came in the $215 NL Holdem Super Knockout event (event #10M), and Adam Levy, who won the $55 NL Holdem 6-Max Action Hour event with rebuys (Event #3M).
Event #12H saw 46 people cough up the $2.1k buy-in, creating a prize-pool of $92k, well clear of the initial guarantee of $50k. The pros were present in great numbers in this event, so Danzer’s win was by no means a shrug-off-worthy achievement. Danzer defeated a nameless
online poker player heads-up for the win, but scores of pros were present at the final table: Shawn Buchanan finished 3rd for a $13.8k prize. He was followed by Dan O’Brien in 4th, Toby Lewis in 5th and Alex Kostritsyn in 6th. The winner’s share of the prize-pool was $34k, since there were no deals made.
Event #10M saw 4,637 players belly up to its virtual tables, creating a prize-pool of $477.6k. This event covered its initial guarantee ($400k) quite handily as well. Victor Lemos walked away with the top prize of $74.9k, besting “tktxrf” heads-up. Patrick Renkers finished 3rd for $39.4k. There was only another notable in the top 10: Rafael Porzecanski made it to 8th place, picking up a $5.9k reward.
2,764 players thought it worthwhile to buy into event #3M. Coughing up a buy-in of just $55, the participants created a prize-pool of $471.5k, putting the initial guarantee of $300k to shame.
The winner of the event was Adam Levy, who – having struck a heads-up deal with eventual runner-up “sms9231” – took home $67.4k.
