Blair Hinkle started the final table of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open’s $10 million Championship Event with the largest stack, and when everything was said and done, he still had the largest stack, even as no one else had any chips left at all. Justin Bonomo finished the day in the same position in which he had started it too: second. Hinkle picked up $1.74 million for his win, taking his overall career earnings above the $3.5 million mark. Bonomo – who had put a handful of buy-ins into the middle in this event and had therefore been under a great deal of pressure to perform – picked up more than $1 million as well. His $1.16 million prize took his tournament earnings above the $7 million mark.
Mukul Pahuja – one of the previous chip leaders of the
poker tournament – finished 3rd for $872.6k.
Greg Lehn was the official short stack of the final table and he was the first one to bite the dust too: he was eliminated in 6th place, He pushed all-in on the 12th hand of the day, with a Kd, Jd, getting a call from Justin Bonomo, who had A,Qo. The board fell all bricks and Bonomo’s A-high held. Lehn picked up $378.1k for his efforts.
He was followed to the rail by Samuel Bernabeu Guilabert and Ray Quartomy, who picked up $494.4k and $639.9k respectively.
The next victim of the final table was 3rd place man Mukul Pahuja, who found himself all-in with Ks, 10s, against Justin Bonomo’s Ah, 10h. The board brought bricks only again and the heads-up stage of the poker tournament was set.
The heads-up battle lasted for 167 hands. After quite a bit of back and forth, Bonomo’s Q,8o fell to Hinkle’s K,10o in the last hand.
