Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open – Day 3 Report

The third day of the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Open $10 Million Championship Event fulfilled its objectives by driving the field down to the last 21 players. When the action wrapped up, the player with the largest stack was Mukul Pahuja, who had 8.12 million chips bagged. Most of Pahuja’s chips came during level 25, when he locked horns with Ryan Welch and found himself in a coin-flip which he eventually won. Welch was sent to the rail then, and Pahuja didn’t stop there: he disposed of Rod Rodrigue, Cory Drury and John Miller too, all during the final couple of levels of the poker tournament, significantly adding to his stack.
Blair Hinkle had a good day too: he finished second behind Pahuja, followed by Ryan Olisar in third and Jeremy Kottler in 4th. Griffin Benger finished with a large stack as well.

One of the largest pots Benger took down, developed at the end of a hand against Aaron Robbins. Robbins decided to take his chances in of the last few hands of the day, pushing all-in with a K,2o. Benger had A,Jo though and after thinking about it for a while, he made the call. The board was all bricks and his flimsy A-high held for the win.

Other players who survived Day 3 getting their tickets punched for Day 4, were November Niner Amir Lehavot, the start of the day chip leader Justin Bonomo, Mark Radoja and David Sands.
With almost only high-profile players left in the field, Lehavot took on Philipp Gruissem, in what would turn out to be a crucial pot for him. The board was reading Ks,8s,2c,Jd,4h when Gruissem fired out a massive bet, falling for the trap sprung by Lehavot’s previous check. Lehavot had A,Ko though and he made the call, taking down a bunch of chips.
