The Online Poker Weekend – 800 Millionth Tournament in the Books at PokerStars

PokerStars’ Carnival of Tournaments celebrations wrapped up with a bang on Saturday, when the special 800 millionth tournament played down to its winner. The milestone event featured a $100 buy-in and it offered a $1 million guarantee. The turn-out – although expected to be massive to begin with – yet again overshadowed all expectations. More than 21 thousand players put up the $100 buy-in, and it’s needless to say they pretty much obliterated the $1 million guarantee. The resulting prize-pool tipped the scales at a staggering $2.16 million. The winner was a player known by the online moniker “Tupac_sjr” who pocketed $216.3k. Interestingly, there were no deals made at the top of the pops. Tupac_sjr walked away with the full share of the winner, while runner-up “environ” had to settle for 160.7k.
The event created a third 6-figure winner too: Vitinh)Dzi took home $109.1k for his 3rd place finish.
The deepest-finishing notable in the poker tournament was Yuri Martins, who ended up in 9th place, for a $12.9k reward. Jordan Young made a relatively deep run too, but his 42nd place was only worth $3k.

Despite the 800 Millionth milestone tournament hogging all the weekend limelight, PokerStars’ Sunday Million ran on schedule as well. The event drew a massive starting field of 7,646 players, creating a prize-pool of $1.49 million.
Stefan Jedlicka was by far the deepest finishing pro in this one: he ended up in second place, taking home $129k after a 4-way deal at the top.
The eventual winner of the tournament was “semaj2” who pocketed $168.2k.
“ManiacRazor” finished 3rd for $142k, while “jonna10” took home $148k for his 4th place effort. There weren’t any other 6-figure winners in the event. Besides Jedlicka, Jon Van Fleet managed a deep run as well: he finished 35th for $3.1k.
