The Online Poker Weekend – Dion Runs Deep in Sunday Million

Yann Dion has certainly had quite an end to his 2012: about a week ago, he won the FTOPS XXI’s Main Event and he has been on a roll since. His latest caper saw him make a deep run in the Sunday Million this weekend. He topped his weekend off with a 12th place finish in the Sunday Brawl.
The biggest winner of the weekend was “arnon shraga”, who won the Sunday Million, taking down the $216.8k top prize.
The Sunday Million saw 7,718 players cough up the $215 buy-in. The resulting prize-pool was a $1.54 million one, well over the $1 million initial guarantee. The biggest online poker tournament of the weekend saw its top two finishers strike a heads-up deal. Mantas Visockis finished second, picking up $184.4k for his efforts. There was only another 6-figure winner in the event: third place finisher Barbara52out picked up $115.7k for her run.

The Sunday Warm-Up saw another 6–figure finisher. The event drew a starting field of 3,381 players, which created a prize-pool of $676.2k. There weren’t any deals made in this tournament. The winner, Waldur1983, took down a prize of $106.1k. The runner-up was Mike Telker: he picked up $79.1k for his efforts. No other notables made the top 10. Vincent Van Der Fluit made it all the way to 17th place: he was rewarded with $2k for his relative deep run.

The Sunday Brawl saw 872 players belly up to its tables. There was a two-way deal in this event as well: the winner, WALTER1952 took home $34.9k for his efforts. The runner-up was rewarded with $31.6k. David Vamplew was the highest-finishing “name” pro in the event: he ended up in 7th place, taking down $5.8k for his efforts.
