The Online Poker Weekend – Marafioti among Winners

The weekend saw the weekend majors at PokerStars and other sites like PartyPoker (freshly boosted by an attractive PartyPoker UK promo) once again firing on all cylinders. Scores of players walked away with 6-figure prizes from the online tables, but none took home more money than the winner of the Sunday Million, Belgium’s Miguel Use.
Poker pro Matt Marafioti was also among the winners.
The interesting thing about this weekend’s Sunday Million was that there were no deals made in it this time around, so the winner actually took down his entire projected share of the prize-pool. The poker tournament saw 6,806 players belly up to its tables, generating a prize-pool of $1.36 million, leaving the $1 million guarantee yet again in the dust. Use, the winner, ended up with a $207k prize. The runner-up was a player known as “agnik80”, whose share of the prize-pool was $153.1k.
As far as notables go, Pratyush Buddiga made the final table of the event. He finished in 4th place, picking up $74.8k.

The Sunday Warm-Up managed to exceed its guarantee as well. The 3,237 players who bellied up to its tables, created a prize-pool of $647.4k. There weren’t any deals made in this event either: PhilRoyal888 won the tournament, pocketing some $101.6k.
The runner-up was a player known by the moniker “thAzArKK”, whose reward was $75.7k.
Mateusz Moolhuizen was the highest finishing notable: his 6th place was worth $21k. Kevin MacPhee made it all the way to 18th place in this one, picking up $1.94k.

Matt Marafioti’s win came in the Sunday Second Chance, which featured a prize-pool of $258.6k. Marafioti struck a heads-up deal, ending up with a $43k prize. The runner-up, “a$$ou”, finished with $35k to his name.
