The Online Poker Weekend - Scott Margereson Wins Sunday Million

The online tournament action exploded over the weekend yet again, and when it came to serious volumes, PokerStars obviously took all the laurels again. The Sunday Million drew a lot of attention, not only because of its generous prize-pool but also on account of its eventual winner. Scott Margereson, who goes by the online moniker "Aggro Santos", has already won two World Championship of Online Poker events at the site, so he was by no means a newcomer to the tables. In the end, Margereson ended up with $194.4k in his bankroll, having bested a starting field of 6,393 players. Being the true pro that he is, Margereson made no deals on his way to the top: he bested KDJAII3 heads-up for the win. The share of the runner-up was $143.8k. A player known as "cube.com" finished third, for a haul of $102.2k. No one else managed to collect a 6-figure prize. The prize-pool of the event was $1.27 million, handily beating the $1 million guarantee.

The Sunday Warm-Up covered its guarantee as well: the 2,774 participants combined buy-ins for a $554.8k prize-pool. In this event, there was a 3-way deal at the top. The eventual winner, tom0202, walked away with $69.4k. dekat15 finished second for $62.6k. The biggest prize went to 3rd place finisher sdsff, who ended up pocketing $57k.
At Full Tilt Poker, the Sunday Major, set to offer a $100k guarantee, almost doubled this initial offer: the 624 players who registered, created a prize-pool of $192.6k. Poker pro Ondrej Vinklarek won this one, taking home $39.5k for his efforts. Vinklarek bested Alex Debus heads-up. The latter earned $26.9k for his second place.
