The Online Poker Weekend – Toth Makes Sunday Million Final Table

The online tournament action flared up quite a bit over the weekend again. The ‘name’ crowd was once again well represented at the tables, and several of the high profile players managed deep runs in various events. The most successful of these players was PokerStars’ Richard Toth, who made the final table of the Sunday Million and then proceeded to finish 5th for a reward of $51.6k.
6,153 players coughed up the $215 buy-in for the Sunday Million, generating a prize-pool of $1,230,600. There were no deals made in the event. The eventual winner, welshwizard9, took home $187.1k. The runner-up was BoboNe93. He was rewarded with $138.4k. No other players managed to finish in 6 figures. Aaron McCready had a deep run as well: he finished 7th, for a haul of $27k.
Other notables to finish high were Jesper Hougaard (16th place) and Joseph Cheong (20th).

The Sunday Warm-up had 2,943 players belly up to the virtual tables. The prize-pool was 588.6k. Genys13 was the one who had the chip lead when the final table action kicked off. He used his advantage well, navigating his way to victory without being forced to make any kind of concessions on the way. He ended up with a $92.9k reward. The one he had to defeat to grab the top spot was Carter Swindler. Swindler took home $68.8k for his efforts. The event didn’t give away any 6-figure prizes.

The Sunday 500 saw 731 players register. The prize-pool in this one was $365.5k. There was a two-way deal at the top, which left the eventual winner, Blonden88, with a prize of $63.6k. The runner-up collected $50k. Kevin MacPhee made a deep run in this event, finishing 5th for $18.8k. A notable finish was that of Australian player WaGe n Warz, who finished 10th for $4.6k. This final table presence marked the 3rd time WaGe n Warz made a Sunday major final table in the last 3 weeks.
