The
online poker weekend was yet again dominated by PokerStars’ major guarantees, in which several high-profile professionals managed to log deep runs this time. One of these professionals was Paul Volpe, who managed a nice performance in the Sunday Million and he then followed it up with a 4th place finish in the Sunday Warm-up.
The Sunday Million was yet again the Sunday major which generated the most action. A total of 6,463 players bellied up to the virtual tables of this event, creating a prize-pool of $1.29 million, once again leaving the guarantee in the dust.
There were no deals in this event: the winner, a player known by the moniker “hamanof”, finished with $196.6k. The runner-up, “Azamat09RUS” had $145.4k to his name, while third-place man Nandinhojah wrapped up the list of 6-figure winners, with $103.4k.

The deepest finishing notable was Tim English, who finished 4th for a $71k prize.
Volpe made it to 19th place, picking up $3k for his efforts.
The Sunday Warm-Up saw 3,003 players belly up to its tables, creating a prize-pool of $600.6k, a little over 100k above the guarantee. A player known as BankOfNorway won this one, taking home the $94.2k top prize, after no deals were made. Volpe finished 4th in this event, picking up $34.5k. Valentino Konakchiev was 3rd. His cut of the prize-pool was $49.8k.
Other “name” pros who did well over the weekend were Valdemar Kwaysser, who won the $109 Sunday Rebuy, for a $47.1k reward, and Emil Ohlsson, who picked up $37.9k following a heads-up deal in the Sunday Second Chance, which featured a $175k guarantee, successfully covered and exceeded.
