The Online Poker Weekend – Yann Dion among Sunday Winners

The online tournament action over the weekend was rather intense, despite the ongoing WSOP hostilities which always tend to suck the life out of the online scene. No fewer than 3 players earned six-figure cashes, among them Yann Dion and Vincas Tamasauskas. Other ‘name’ players who finished deep in various events were Nico Fierro and James Obst.
The Sunday Million drew a starting field of 5,388 players, which created a prize-pool of $1,077,600, just squeezing above the $1 million guarantee.
Andras Nemeth and John Morneau were two of the ‘name’ players who made deep runs in the event. None of them came close to the final table though. There was a 3-way deal at the top, which left the winner, foldbudiao, with a $144.8k prize.
The runner-up was a player known as “robinsex”, who picked up $108k for his efforts. Andrzejeczek finished 3rd for a $130k reward. The Sunday Million was the only event which created 6-figure winners, none of the other weekend guarantees came even close to that.

The Sunday Warm-Up saw 2,817 players belly up to the tables. The prize-pool in this one was $563.4k, which once again managed to top the guarantee by a relatively small margin.
There were no deals made in this event. The winner, SAUS, took home the full share of the $88.7k, while the runner-up, “ThisIsPete” pocketed $66.1k. MrDanoss finished third for a reward of $47.3k. The deepest finishing notable in this event was Nico Fierro, who ended up in 5th place, picking up $24.5k for his efforts.

The Sunday 500 saw 607 players belly up to its tables, generating a prize-pool of $303.5k, once again slipping just above the guarantee. NoaTheArk won this event, taking home $56.9k for his efforts. There weren’t any deals struck in this event either.
Yann Dion won the $109 PokerStars Bigger, a move which netted him a $38.3k prize. Dion bested a player known as “Noelliam” heads-up for the win.
