The Online Poker Weekend – Yann Dion Victorious in Full Tilt’s $250k

The Sunday Majors drew starting field rife with high profile pros again this past weekend. Several of the “name” players like Yann Dion, Francis Anderson and Joao Barbosa, scored wins in various events. The biggest online poker tournament was yet again PokerStars’ Sunday Million.
The biggest of the Weekend Majors saw 6,714 players belly up to the tables, having created a prize-pool of $1.34 million.
This time around, there were no deals made among the top players: the winner of the event, a player known as “SoP8800” from Luxembourg, took home the full projected share of the winner: $204.2k. The haul made him the largest online tournament winner of the weekend.
Second place man ace-roth21 walked away with $151k while the third place finisher, squire1888, took home $107.4k. There weren’t any other 6-figure finishers in the event. Mario Puccini was the highest finishing notable: he made it all the way to 7th place, for a $29.5k reward.

The Sunday Warm-Up saw 2,915 players cough up the $215 buy-in. Unlike the Sunday Million, this event wrapped up with a 3-way deal. The eventual winner, “Magorefet” took home $74.6k. The second place finisher was Dodin150812, who was rewarded with $68k.
The deepest-finishing pro in this event was Tim Sulivan, who earned $33.5k for his 4th place finish.

Yann Dion’s win came in Full Tilt Poker’s $250k guaranteed. He defeated Tom Middleton heads-up for the title and the $52.1k top prize. There were obviously no deals at the top of this poker tournament.
Francis Anderson earned his online stripes in Full Tilt Poker’s Sunday Brawl. He won, beating a starting field of 1,159 players, and taking home the $46.3k top prize. Joao Barbosa’s win came in PokerStars’ Sunday Supersonic, which offered a $125k guarantee. He earned $45k.
Play at PokerStars and take advantage of the excellent value offered by their Sunday Majors.
