The Poker Grapevine – Full Tilt Granted Extension

Not much came to light last week regarding the Full Tilt Poker – Groupe Bernard Tapie deal, but the besieged online poker operation’s name made headlines yet again on account of a related but slightly different matter: the US Attorney for the Southern District of New York granted Full Tilt Poker as well as Absolute Poker, UB, Rafe Furst, Ray Bitar and Howard Lederer yet another extension on the deadline to respond to the accusations brought against them by the Black Friday indictments of April 2011. March 19 was the previous deadline. The new deadline for the above named is May 13. The original response deadline had been November 30, 2011, but since then the indicted got several deadline extensions.

In other news: Spanish authorities have been taking license applications from companies looking to enter the country’s legalized and regulated online poker market for a while, and it is now certain that Bodog will not be among those offering real money online poker to the Spanish public.
An official announcement in the matter has been made, according to which, Spanish players will no longer be able to make real money deposits at Bodog, and all accounts belonging to Spanish residents or residents of Spanish territories will be disabled on March 31, 2012. The Spanish regulations will almost certainly go into effect sometime this year. Around 60 online gambling and poker operators have already applied for a Spanish license.

In still other news: bwin.party have always been at the forefront of online gambling and poker technology and as such, they have launched Android and iPhone clients over a year ago. They now have all the bases covered with their recently launched iPad app, which is based on the above said mobile clients.
The new client gives iPad users full and unrestricted access to their bwin.party poker accounts while taking advantage of the superior resolution offered bythe iPad.
