The Poker Grapevine – Garden City Group Offers Updates

The Full Tilt Poker payment ordeal for US players has been ongoing for quite a while now, but for some players, the light at the end of the tunnel is already visible. Last month, the announcement was made that some $82 million will be paid back to US-based players and that the payment process would be completed by the end of March. Of course, only those fully eligible will receive money during this first round of repayments, meaning that only those whose balances have been verified and who have made no errors through the claim-process will qualify.
While the news were indeed greeted with an outburst of joy by the online poker world in general, it turns out there is a catch after all.
According to the GCG, even some of the eligible players may find that no money lands in their accounts. Those who have delinquent debt that they owe to the US government will have the corresponding funds deducted from the amount refunded to them.
Players who fall into this category were sent a special email at the end of January, which included a form called the Unified Financial Management System Vendor Request Form. This form has to be filled out by the claimants and it has to be sent back to the GCG within 30 days (pretty much till the end of February).

The GCG’s second announcement concerned Full Tilt Poker affiliates. According to it, affiliates who accrued monies through affiliate marketing activities will be left high and dry, although the monies they may have amassed through actual poker action at the site will be returned to them. The decision has apparently been reached after DoJ representatives met with the PPA. Apparently, beforehand, all affiliate monies would have simply been seized.
