The Poker Grapevine – Hansen and Blom Playing Micro Stakes

Viktor Blom and Gus Hansen have been spotted playing at the micro limits tables at Full Tilt Poker the other day. Does this mean that two members of the professionals are both broke? While Hanson did indeed have a rather tough time at the green felt this year, and he didn't really get to enjoy significantly more success at the live tables either, Viktor Blom has thus far managed to put together a rather phenomenal 2013 run. The Swede is indeed one of the most successful online poker players of all time. He has been involved in each and every one of the 10 biggest online poker pots ever played for, and his bankroll is quite possibly larger than the annual budget of some of the smaller countries out there. How come then that he decided to descend to the micro stakes?

It all has to do with the contract that he has signed with Full Tilt Poker. As a member of The Professionals, his job does not resume to padding his bankroll at the nosebleed stakes all the time. He needs to represent the brand and as such he needs to play against the regular players of the site every now and then. Since there are indeed few who can afford to take him on at his favorite of roaming grounds, he needs to descend to lower stakes.
There are actually several tables specially created for this purpose at Full Tilt Poker. They are known as Gus Hansen’s table and Isildur1’s table. The two poker professionals will show up at their respective tables several times a week.
Those looking to lock horns with H ansen or Blom will be able to do so at stakes starting from $.5/$1 and going all the way to $3/$6.
