The Poker Grapevine – More ISPT Changes

From a positively idealistic poker utopia, the inaugural event of the International Stadiums Poker Tour has slowly but surely morphed into a much more down to earth version of itself, undergoing quite a few radical changes in the process. Gone are all the aspects of the event that didn't seem financially feasible from the get go. At one point, it even looked like the whole idea of a large-scale live poker tournament like the one proposed for the inaugural event of the ISPT, would simply fade into the sunset, never to be heard of again. After numerous structural overhauls however, it now looks like the first event of what is promised to be an entire series will in fact take place this June at London's Wembley Stadium. The ISPT has partnered up with the Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, which will apparently be the entity handling all the dirty work that goes with licensing, promotion and marketing and the especially touchy task of guaranteeing the prize pool.

As the kickoff date of the first ISPT event approaches, many of the details seem to get ironed out as well: the director of the event will be Dusk Till Dawn Poker tournament director Simon Trumper. According to the owner of the Dusk Till Dawn Poker Club, there is no way the inaugural ISPT will go down as a bust. There will either be thousands upon thousands of players buying into the event and creating a massive prize pool, or there will be a massive overlay. In both cases the poker community will win. As said before, the changes introduced to the ISPT’s format will mean that instead of being held in the stadium, the first day of the inaugural event will take place online.
