Those who have had enough of Tony G’s antics can now exact some sweet revenge by robbing the guy’s house at
Party Poker. OK, it’s not an actual robbery we’re talking about, but rather a promotion which gives away luxury items, gadgets and even a Volkswagen GTI car. Being awarded by PartyPoker, the items are assumed to be Tony G’s since he’s the official face of the operation. Here’s what we’re basically talking about: from September 3 to October 7, there will be a set of giveaway events running, entry to which will cost a Party Point. What this means is that it’s pretty much a cinch to get into these events. Those who accumulate 20 Party Points will gain entry to each and every one of the giveaways, practically earning the right to party right in Tony G’s house.
In other news: the APPT’s Melbourne Main Event saw its second day 1 flight kick off, with 159 players bellying up to the tables. At the end of the day, it was Ted Nguyen who had the largest stack of chips bagged.
There were no fewer than 4 PokerStars pros in the starting field on Day 1B. Bryan Huang was one of them: he was eliminated from the event early on. Angel Guillen played as well: his tournament life came to an end during the 6th level of action.
Lee Nelson was among the ‘name’ players who never made it to the end of the day, together with John O’Shea and Jonathan Karamalikis.
David Gorr, the Aussie Millions Main Event winner on the other hand had a great day. He finished with a healthy stack, but Andrew Hinrichsen managed to best even his result. Celina Lin of Team PokerStars pro made the cut as well. No fewer than 6 players finished with stacks larger than that of Brendon Rubie, the Day 1A chip leader.
