Every red-blooded
online poker player has forever dreamt about playing in a prestigious poker series like the
World Series of Poker. Well apparently to millions of players worldwide that the dream will come true this summer, when Microsoft's new World Series of Poker: Full House Pro will hit the shelves. The videogame, designed for Xbox and Windows 8, will allow players to put their poker skills to the test against human opponents from all over the world, while showing off a myriad of chip tricks and pimped-up avatars and doing their best to belittle opponents in ways as creative as possible. Obviously, the game will not be a real money one.
WSOP: Full House Pro is basically an evolution of the already successful Xbox Live Arcade game “Full House Poker”, introducing several new elements, amongst which commentary by ESPN announcers Norman Chad and Lon McEachern will take center stage.
The game will give players several modes to wade through: there will be single table action as well as multi table tournaments.
In other news: on Monday, Laurent Polito won the WPT’s National Paris event, taking down a $97.3k prize after surviving an initial starting field of 229 players. The winner’s share of the loot included a ticket to the WPT’s Grand Prix De Paris too, which is worth €7.5k.
Polito’s lifetime tournament winnings have approached the $1 million mark with this haul.
The final table of the WPT National Paris was a tough one. Besides the eventual winner, high-profile players like Antoine Saout were also in the mix. Saout eventually ran his stack aground in 4th place, picking up €24.7k for his efforts.
The player whom Polito defeated heads-up was Stephane Benadiba, who ended up with €52k.
