The Second Day of Event #32 is History

The $5k NL Holdem 6-handed event - #32 of the 2013 WSOP – saw 128 players belly up to its tables on its second day. The goal was to play down as close to the final table as possible and when the action was called that goal had indeed been attained. Only 14 players remained standing at the end of the day.
Given the high buy-in, the field featured a higher concentration of “name” players than usual, which meant that several of the high profile participants were forced to go home on day 2, some of them with nothing to show for their time and efforts.
PokerStars pro Bertrand Grospellier was one of these payers. He was joined on the rail by TJ Cloutier, Brian Hastings and Phil Galfond, as none of these players managed to make it into the money.

Brian Rast on the other hand managed to make it past the bubble. He was bounced in 54th place. PokerStars’ Daniel Negreanu made the cut as well: he fell in 39th place. Justin Smith made it all the way to 19th. Given the number of pros who saw action on Day 2 it was inevitable that some of them manage to sneak into the final 14. Jonathan Little was the one who finished the day with the largest stack. He had 1.29 million chips bagged. Allen Bari finished second with 1.19 million, and Dan Smith finished 3rd with 719k.
Ryan D’Angelo, Andrew Robl, Erick Lindgren and Jonathan Aguiar all made the top 14 too, on healthy stacks no less. Lee Markholt and Dario Sammartino will start the final day of the poker tournament among the short stacks. Considering the quality of the remaining field, the final day of action is sure to yield an outstanding poker spectacle indeed.
