The Year’s Remaining Major Poker Tourneys

The end of the year is now less than two months away, and thus far, despite some adversity, it’s safe to say that 2012 has been a great year for the
poker tournament circuit. None of the major events have thus far disappointed in any way, and it doesn’t look like the ones left will do that either.
Exactly what other major live poker tournaments do we have to look forward to in 2012 though?
The WSOP-C’s Harvey Lake Tahoe event is already underway. It kicked off on November 8 and it will wrap up on November 19. The Main Event will kick off this weekend and it costs $1,675 to enter. The stop features no fewer than 12 events which award WSOP-C rings to their respective winners. Of course, the majority of these events are already in the books.
The ANZPT’s Auckland stop starts before the above said
WSOP-C one wraps up. The events kick off on November 17 and last till November 25, culminating in a Main Event, to which the buy-in costs $2.2k. The stop is the second one of the current ANZPT season.
The WSOP-C’s Harrah’s Atlantic City stop kicks off on November 29. This stop is expected to yield a massive starting field since that’s what Atlantic City events usually do. At any rate, it will be difficult to beat last year’s attendance record: no fewer than 618 players registered for the Main Event then. The winner, Tuan Phan took home an unprecedented $188.8k top prize.
There will be 12 ring-awarding events and two National Poker Championship seats up for grabs.
The
EPT’s Prague event takes place between December 5 and 15, featuring a flurry of live tournaments. The Main Event is expected to put all previously set records to shame.
