PokerStars’ Turbo Championship of Online Poker has reached its third edition, and the site has finally made its schedule public the other day. Kicking off on January 23, the TCOOP will feature 50 events and it will hand out guaranteed prizes totaling a massive 15 million. The
online poker festival wraps up on February 2. According to Team
PokerStars pro Lex Veldhuis, the TCOOP should be a “must be there” series for all those serious about their online grinding, after all, due to the speed of the action, one can work his way into 5- or 6-figure territory extremely fast. The TCOOP also offers great diversity in the poker variants and tournament formats it features.
Like every respectable poker/online poker series, the TCOOP features a Main Event too: a $700 NL Holdem affair, which represents the culmination of the festival. The guaranteed prize-pool for the Main Event is $2 million, which means that the winner will walk away with at least $300k. Of course, given the popularity of the Series, these numbers are pretty much guaranteed to be left in the dust.
For those looking to play for serious money indeed, there is a High Roller event too, featuring a $2.1k buy-in and a guarantee of $1 million.
The first two events of the 3rd TCOOP, set to take place on its opening day, both feature $750k prize-pools. The first one is a $27 NL Holdem 6-Max tournament, and the second one is a $215
NL Holdem Knockout affair.
Besides the prize-pools offered by the actual tournaments, there are some side-benefits up for grabs too: the Player of the Series leader board offers 2015 PCA prize-packages as well as a generous number of SCOOP tickets up for grabs. The values of these rewards are obviously dependent on how high one finishes on the above said Series leader board.
