Tom Dwan and Full Tilt Poker Part Ways

It hasn’t been a secret for anyone that once online poker’s Wunderkind, Tom Dwan has been having various problems lately. We cannot say if these problems were of a financial nature, but that too may have been a factor, given how Dwan has tried to re-work the terms of the Durrrr Challenge and how he generally avoided taking large amounts of money to the green felt. His having dropped off the high stakes online poker radar was obviously not good news for Full Tilt Poker, the site that had hired him to represent its interests and to keep its brand in the headlines. Dwan hasn’t really been doing much representing lately, so the inevitable has finally come about a few days ago. It was first noted by a poster in one of the popular online poker forums that Dwan’s picture had disappeared from Full Tilt Poker’s site, from The Professionals page, where only Gus Hansen and Viktor Blom remained listed.

Hired by Full Tilt Poker in October 2012, Dwan’s tenure with the site expired after a little over a year of flying under the radar. The confirmation of the move was made by a Full Tilt Poker spokesperson, who said that having had Tom Dwan as a member of Full Tilt was a true pleasure for those who had worked with him. The spokesperson also said the company was going to keep an eye on Dwan in his future endeavors, wishing him luck in the process.

Its team of in-house professionals down to two, Full Tilt Poker may soon be in the market to add one (or several) more players, especially given how badly Hansen has fared lately. The Great Dane has the biggest online cash game loser of the year title locked up, although somehow he’s thus far steered clear of financial problems.
