Tony G on His New Open-face Chinese Poker Venture

Having recently celebrated his 40th birthday, former PartyPoker in-house pro, Tony G, gave himself quite a birthday present: he launched TonyBet, the first real money open-face Chinese poker site. Always the entrepreneur, Tony G saw a great, as-yet-unexplored niche in online open-face Chinese poker, and he pounced on the opportunity. The businessman and poker pro known for his outspoken ways, said that the need for a site like TonyBet has been around for quite a while, and indeed, who could know it better what the poker community wants than someone not only connected to the masses of low-stakes everyday Joes through his various online poker enterprises, but also to the cream of the crop of the poker world due to his high stakes exploits in various live poker arenas all over the world.

Having conquered the realm of poker and business, Tony G is now looking to take the next logical step: jumping into politics. He’s running for the European Parliament, on behalf of Lithuania of course. Although he views the ripe age of 40 as not something one really waits for, Tony G is quite probably in the best physical shape of his life. Focused on a healthy lifestyle, he’s slimmed down quite a bit and he looks younger now than he did a couple of years ago. Although he admits that at 40 it’s difficult to improve in any way, that seems to be exactly what he’s aiming at these days.
TonyBet is a clear example in this respect. Although the site was rushed out, it worked out pretty well despite the lack of serious and exhaustive pre-launch testing. Already, the number of sign-ups and active players hitting the site is quite impressive, and with open-face Chinese poker quickly developing into something of a lasting fad in the world of poker, those sign-ups are likely to continue for the time being.
