Tony G Raising Hell on Twitter

If there’s one guy in the poker world who would qualify as an expert hellraiser, it has to be Tony G. Guoga certainly knows how to create a ruckus while remaining on the right side of poker history, and he’s also fully aware of the marketing/advertising benefits that come with his hell-raising abilities. Lately he’s been off the poker radar for a while – which is not to say he was not active, but he didn’t quite make as many headlines as he used to. Dry spell over: Tony G is back in business, raising hell on twitter in his own trademarked manner (although some say there are distinct Charlie Sheen-ish influences in his latest antics).
The twitter post that drew attention to the G again was one about a video laden with expletives and some of Charlie Sheen’s recycled “Tiger Blood” references, which got pulled by the poster almost as soon as it hit cyberspace.
Guoga must’ve realized that he took things a bit too far with it, or he may just have concluded that with so many Sheen references in it, the post was way too unoriginal. Anyway, he shot up another tweet immediately after pulling the video off air, apologizing for it in his own unmistakably original way.
He did not miss the opportunity to take aim at Phil Hellmuth again though. One of Guoga’s favorite targets, the Poker Brat has been singing his wife’s praises over twitter for a few days before their 20th anniversary. Tony G calmly concluded in a reply tweet of his own that Hellmuth’s wife must not have been all that brilliant if she stuck it out in the Poker Brat’s corner for that long.
Witty or just plain distasteful, Guoga and his tweets have certainly become one of the major landmarks of the
online poker world, and one thing is certain: this speck of color is not going anywhere soon…
