Vanessa Selbst Confirms PartyPoker Premier League VII Participation

PartyPoker’s Premier League VII will definitely not be short on “name” competitors come November 20, not that it was ever at risk of being forsaken by the top pros. The latest high profile competitor to add her name to the lineup was Vanessa Selbst, who took part in the Premier League back in 2011 too. Selbst will join Antonio Esfandiari, Premier League staple Tony G, Jeff Gross and Phil Laak in the Playground Poker Club in Montreal.
In 2011, Selbst faltered in the preliminary round, eventually failing to accrue the number of points needed to give her passage to the final table of 8.
Selbst said she had a lot a fun playing in the Premier League in 2011, and she was looking forward to tackling the mentally challenging format of the event again, especially now that it features a new, short-handed format.

A total of 12 players are slated to take part in the event, and they will be split up into two preliminary groups, which will battle it out for the final table seats. Those who make it to the final table will make battle for a $350k top prize, and for the chance to join the rather illustrious Hall of Fame-like group of previous Premier League winners, which includes names like JC Tran, Andy Black, Scott Seiver, Juha Helppi and Dan Shak - the winner of the Premier League VI which took place earlier this year.

Vanessa Selbst is indeed the right name to add to the PartyPoker Premier League VII lineup these days: not only does she have a stellar record which includes 2 WSOP bracelets among other high-caliber titles, she seems to be on fire lately. In the WPT’s Borgata Poker Open she made it all the way to second place, picking up $492k. Not long ago, she won the UKIPT’s London High Roller too.
