Weekend online poker action

The WCOOP is over and the millionaires it created have probably already invested their winnings left and right. The big rush for six and seven figure prizes has settled, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t big money to be made online. The PokerStars Sunday Million is there, and the eternal second place Full Tilt Poker isn’t far behind either.
This past weekend saw its share of big winners too: no fewer than 6 people took home six figure prizes. Here’s a breakdown of what happened.
PokerStars’ Sunday Million attracted a monster field of 7,515 participants. The $200+$15 buy-in was definitely a very reasonable one, especially in light of the fact that the prize-pool surpassed the 1.5 million mark. That basically guaranteed the winner a more than hefty prize, but a 4-way deal eventually gave a different shape to the distribution of top booty.
Player “nommaddman” emerged victorious at the end of it all, taking home a $189,233, a prize which could’ve been bigger had it not been for the deal he struck with “mikal12345”, jas42 and Ronald Kosh. All four players walked away with 6-figure prizes, the smallest of them being Ronald Kosh’s $120,002.
The Sunday $500 guaranteed attracted a significantly smaller field, probably on account of the bigger buy-in and the smaller prize-pool. Only 1,016 players bellied up to the virtual tables in this event, their eyes on the $87,680 top prize. Victory eventually went to Jim Collopy (known online as Mr_BigQueso).
Newg_choier finished 2nd for $63,500, followed by Peter Traply (Belabacsi) in 3rd, for $48,260.
Luke Vrabel finished 21st in the $500k Gtd after having finished 74th in the Sunday Million.
The Sunday Warm-up ($750K Gtd) offered much better value for players, with the buy-in being just $200+$15. Thanks to the 4,417 participants, the prize-pool grew to $883,400, comfortably covering the guarantee. KenT351 took the top spot in this one, pocketing a $138,587 prize.
Sn0wb4ll finished second for $102,916 and Beto777 ended up third, for $72,881. Notable finishes were those of Peter Neff (30th) and Mario Silvestri (84th).
Over at Full Tilt, the weekend action was heating up too. The $750k guaranteed attracted a field of 4,008 registrants who combined buy-ins ($200+$16) for a prize-pool of $801,600 which managed to cover the guarantee.
This event saw a four-way deal at the top too. Player “want2bedomnated” walked away with the win eventually, pocketing $89,229 in the process. Those who finished 2-4th all took home $79,405.
Another notable finish was that of Michael Schwartz, who won $3,976 for his 16th place.
The Sunday Mulligan featured a much smaller starting field. 1,185 players bellied up to the tables, contributing to a $237,000 prize-pool. Ton Lacosta walked away with the first prize worth $53,325, followed by Rollie_416 (who won $33,772) and PrishChips31 ($25,003).
Joe ElPayaaa finished 19th and Tony Gargano finished 24th.
Full Tilt’s Sunday Brawl was more successful in terms of attracting registrants and covering the guarantee. The $240+$16 buy-in was reasonable especially in light of the $478,200 prize-pool. 2,391 players took part in the event and player Seigo74 walked away with the $97,528 first prize.
