WPT Foxwoods World Poker Finals – Day 2 Report

The organizers of the Foxwoods World Poker Finals kept the registration open for the second day of the event too, but only 4 more players took advantage of late registration. Thus, the eventual stating field totaled 189 players, and the prize-pool shot up to $1,778,300. That will guarantee the winner a little under $450k. A total of 27 players will be paid, with min-cash amounting to $19.9k.
144 players returned to the tables from the first day of the event, in addition to the 4 late registrants. At the end of the day, 66 players bagged their chips for day 3, among them chip leader Dan Colpoys and Andy Frankenberger, who finished 2nd in chips.
Chris Klodnicki, Peter Politano and Christian Harder also finished the day with healthy stacks.
Colpoys managed to amass 246k chips, but the going wasn’t easy for him either. One of the biggest pots he took down came from Jack Kashishian, who had K,Q against Colpoy’s pocket rockets on a flop of K,Q, 4. The river brought an A to give Colpoys a set of Aces together with the pot, which turned out to be a crucial one indeed.

Frankenberger started the day with the 4th largest stack, but he wielded his chips skillfully, busting one bluff after the other on his way to second place. Early in the day, he managed to keep two players honest holding nothing but an A-high.
Christian Harder was forced to deal with a much more radical variance. He had his ups and downs through the day, but he eventually managed to finish 6th regardless.
Darren Elias was one of the players responsible for one of Harder’s lows. He took a massive pot off him after his set of 10s got the better of whatever Harder threw his way.
Kathy Liebert, Erik Seidel and Jason Mercier were also among the survivors. Tony Dunst and Will Failla both busted out.
