WPT Jacksonville – Noah Schwartz Wins

Six players returned to the tables on the 4th and final day of the WPT’s Jacksonville Fall Poker Scramble. The goal was nothing short of playing down to a winner, and when the day ended, it did so because a winner was crowned: Noah Schwartz took down the title, together with the $402.9k top prize. Schwartz began the day in the driver’s seat, in possession of about 44% of all chips in play. He never let any doubt seep into the proceedings as he pounded on the opposition. Lee Markholt was the first victim of the day, eliminated on the very first hand of the poker tournament. Markholt picked up an A,Ko and he shoved all-in, getting a call from Schwartz who had pocket Qs for the classic coin-flip. The board failed to hit either player and the field was down to 5.
The next one to bite the dust was Brian Senie. He too fell at Schwartz’s hands, after his Q,10o fell to the latter’s K,10o.

With that many chips under his nose and with two final table scalps already on his belt, Schwartz took a bit of a back seat, letting Byron Kaverman come forth to take center stage. Kaverman eliminated Hans Winzeler in 4th place. He had pocket 3s against the latter’s A,Jo for yet another coin-flip of a showdown.
The player to bite the dust in 3rd place, thus setting up the heads-up stage of the action, was Ryan Hartmann. Kaverman took him on in yet another coin-flip, pitting his pocket 8s against Hartmann’s Qd,Jd. At the start of the heads-up action, Kaverman and Schwartz were almost even in chips, with the momentum clearly on Kaverman’s side. Schwartz almost immediately ground him down though and eventually eliminated him on a Qs, 10s vs 10c, 9c match-up.
