WPT Legends of Poker – Day 1B Report

The second day 1 flight of the WPT’s Legends of Poker saw 199 players belly up to the tables. At the end of the day, only 81 were left standing. The player with the largest stack at the end of the day was Chris Richter, who had 176.5k chips bagged. Richter finished just ahead of Parviz Sayyad, who had 175.4k chips to his name at the end of the day. The highest finishing notable was Frank Rusnak who finished 4th, just ahead of Faraz Jaka. Kyle Julius finished on a healthy stack of 142.7k chips too.
Most of Julius’ chips came from Taylor Paur during the 6th level, when he was sitting in early position and kicked off the hostilities by betting 900 into the pot. Amnon Filippi was one of the players who made the call. He was in the hijack, while Paur decided to try to defend his BB.
The flop fell 9c, 4s,3s and Julius kept the pedal to the metal. This time, only Paur tagged along. The 6d on the turn prompted Paur to check and then to call yet another of Julius’ bets.
The 6c on the river was followed by another round of betting and calling and then Julius showed 5h, 2h for the turned straight. Paur mucked.

Another player who finished the second day 1 flight of the poker tournament with a large stack was Ebony Kenney. At one point during the day, she pushed all-in preflop with pocket rockets against an opponent’s pocket Ks. The rockets held and she took down the pot, finishing the day with 79,000 chips to her name.

Will Failla was among the survivors as well, together with Jeremy Ausmus, Phil Laak and Adam Geyer.
David Sands on the other hand wasn’t that fortunate. He was bounced, together with Ryan Riess and Mimi Tran.
