WPT Legends of Poker – Day 4 Report

The 4th day of the WPT’s Legends of Poker event saw the field play down to the final table. 15 players returned at the beginning of the day, looking to make the 6-handed home dash of the poker tournament.
Dan Heimiller, who began the day with one of the largest stacks but only made the final table as the official short-stack, hit a double-up almost straight away. The one who provided him the chips was Patrick Karschamroon, the start of the day chip leader, who had a pair of 6s against Heimiller’s A,J in a classic coin-flip which went Heimiller’s way, giving him the lead and a stack of 4.1 million chips.

Ron Jenkins was the first player to bite the dust. He was followed to the rail by Richard Munro, Stephen Garner and Sam Barnhart. It wasn’t until the elimination of Cherng Hua in 11th place though that the unofficial final table of 10 was set. Ryan Goindoo drew first blood only 5 hands into the unofficial final table: he sent Brian Gorman to the rail. Gorman had an A,Q against Goindoo’s K,6, but he lost the race nonetheless when a 6 fell on the flop.

Once wound up, Goindoo wouldn’t stop until he shoved another player out of the way: this time, Shahen Martirosian crossed his path, pitting his top pair and flush draw against Goindoo’s same hand with a better kicker. The flush failed to materialize and Martirosian was out.
8-handed action lasted for a while, but short-stacked Garrett Greer wasn’t really able to keep up: he was bounced in 7th place by Alex Masek. The last victim of the day – whose elimination set the official final table – was Patrick Karschamroon, the start of the day chip leader. He was sent packing by Jordan Cristos.
Ryan Goindoo finished with the largest stack. Phil Laak was second.
