The 3rd day 1 flight of the WPT’s Prague Main Event saw 273 players belly up to the tables. Day 1C sealed the registrants’ field of the
PartyPoker sponsored event at 567. After the day’s hostilities, a chip leader emerged in Yannick Bonnet, who managed to build a stack of 197.2k chips. Bonnet may have overtaken Kevin MacPhee, but he failed to clinch the overall chip lead, which remained in Mikhail Mazunin’s possession, whose 203.6k chip stack still rules supreme.
Bonnet had an excellent day 1C run indeed. On his way to the top of the pops, he sent Jason Duval to the rail among others. The hand which saw Duval hit the rail was a typical perfect hand. Duval had made a boat on the river and obviously he pushed all-in on it. Bonnet made the call and proceeded to table a bigger boat for the pot and the elimination.
Later in the day, towards the end of it in fact, Bonnet managed to take advantage of yet another near perfect hand: he flopped a set again and he got his chips into the middle, only to be called by Martin Kabrhel, who had a top pair. Needless to say, neither the turn nor the river helped Kabrhel and Bonnet chipped up massively yet again.
Kevin MacPhee’s big break came during the 5th level when he managed to eliminate two players in one move. Yasmine Hanane and Petr Konas were the two players who shoved all-in on the flop, with one of them holding top pair and the other a set. MacPhee called them with a flush draw. The river filled his flush and the poker tournament was 2 players lighter. Mike McDonald and Olivier Busquet made it through the day too. Davidi Kitai on the other hand bit the dust.
