WPT Prague – Day 2 Report

The second day of the WPT’s Prague Main Event added 6 more levels of action to the tally. At the end of the grind, the player who came out on top was Marco Lang who managed to amass 694k chips to secure pole position for Day 3. 78 players remained in contention, and while it may have been the players’ goal to play past the money bubble on Day 2, they failed to do so. Day 3 will still have to see 6 players hit the rail before the remaining survivors can breathe a sigh of relief. Lang played well through the day, but the majority of his chips came in a hand against Stanislav Barshak, which saw the latter hit the rail.
Three players pushed all-in in the said hand before the flop. One of them was Barshak who had pocket 3s. Another player had an A,Qo, while Lang had pocket Qs which managed to hold, sending his stack past the 500k mark.

Elio Fox was another player who did well on Day 2: he ended up eliminating Mike McDonald close to the end of the day. The hand which resulted in Timex’s elimination saw the chips fly into the middle before the flop. McDonald had pocket 10s against Fox’s pocket rockets. The board was all blanks and McDonald was bounced, while Fox’s stack shot past the $570k mark.
Kevin MacPhee did relatively well too: he survived the day, together with Jason Mercier, Lars Bonding and Byron Kaverman.
Jonathan Duhamel on the other hand wasn’t that lucky: he busted out of the poker tournament, and the one who pushed him onto the slippery slope of elimination was none other than Elisabeth Hille. Alexander Lakhov later swopped in and finished him off for good.
