WPT Prague Main Event - Day 1B in the Books
Posted by: James Carter. - Fri, 2015-12-04 07:39
The second day 1 flight of the PartyPoker-sponsored WPT Prague Main Event is in the books and the current chip leader is none other than a
PartyPoker.net online qualifier. Josh Cranfield finished the day with a massive stack of 176.4k chips, quite a bit more than second-place finisher Yingui Li, who only had 116k bagged. The starting field was relatively pro-heavy, so it didn't really surprise anyone when Byron Kaverman finished in 3rd spot. He had some 108.8k chips bagged. Pierre Chevalier finished in 4th place, with 105k chips to his name.
This year so far, Kaverman has had an excellent time: he had no fewer than 11 significant cashes (and by that we mean 6-figure ones) and he has amassed more than $3.4 million in profits.

173 players bellied up to the tables at the beginning of the day. While there was plenty of attrition, some 112 of these players managed to have their tickets punched for Day 2. Thus far, there are 233 registrations in the middle, but this number is far from final as late registrations and reentries are allowed.
In fact, poker pro Stephen Chidwick has already taken advantage of the re-entry feature, as he re-bought to play on Day 1B as well. Like his Day 1A effort though, this move of his ended up in failure. The one responsible for his elimination this time around, was the winner of the
EPT's Malta High Roller, Charlie Carrell, who ended up with 38.1k chips at the end of the day.
Other players who finished the day with decent stacks were Britain's Tom Hall and Oliver Price (who had 64.8k and 60.5k chips bagged respectively).
